Thought I had better get this uploaded as they went back to Scandanavia about a fortnight ago and I dislike uploading "out of season" images

There were dozens of them about but they mooch around on the ground and I have very few images of them perched

We normally have at least a couple over-wintering here but not this time, so especially nice seeing this image. Such lovely marking, well captured here.

What a belter of a shot Sandra. I have seldom seen the plumage so well displayed and a bonus with the bird on a perch. Stunning shot.

Thats one cracking shot Sandra, and then when looking at it in "Large" woooow, just stunning, fantastic colours, great detail and great clarity.

They stayed here so late they were getting their summer plumage and dark heads. Also - they should be in peak condition as we get through loads of expensive feed!!!!!!!! Smile Wink Actually we are tailing off the feeding for the summer now as there aren't that many birds coming in
