Thought I had better get this uploaded as they went back to Scandanavia about a fortnight ago and I dislike uploading "out of season" images
There were dozens of them about but they mooch around on the ground and I have very few images of them perched

Beautiful shot i have looked for one myself over winter but no good ill try next year

They stayed here so late they were getting their summer plumage and dark heads. Also - they should be in peak condition as we get through loads of expensive feed!!!!!!!!
Actually we are tailing off the feeding for the summer now as there aren't that many birds coming in
