A foreigner on Southern metals.
A steam special sponsered by Shepherd Neame Brewery, "The Spitfire" was booked to be hauled by Bullied Battle of Britain class, "Tangmere", but she was out of traffic for maintainence and so a Stanier class 5 of the old LMS Railway was brought in to cover.
Here she is seen passing through Herne Bay station in Kent Composition could've been better, but she was not exactly hanging about!!
