Yesterday I wrote of my problems with people who are negative, sometimes aggressively so on here. I talked of how they always want to attack and undermine.

Well they won ! The ePz group that I was referring too has been taken down. The owner of the group felt that she did not want to carry on with running the group when she was having to deal with such people; she felt unable to do so herself, given the rules about forums on ePz ; she also felt that the real reasons for running the group had been so severely undermined that it just wasn't worth trying.

I am very saddened by this. Someone who takes the trouble to set up a group specifically to help those who are new to a particular area of photography and giving so much to help them giving up because of others who are so negative and self obsessed that they don't seem to care about others.

Oh how I wish the positive, thoughtful and helpful people that I have come across on here could somehow get together and take control !

Just needs a few champions to steer things in the right way (without then become alternative "bullies"). I try - I interjected in the group you're talking about. The thing is there are many types of people on here with different ideals. The problem is when one gets in the way of the other because they don't agree with what the other is doing. I cannot see how they cant coexist. Its one of our biggest issues for the moderator team.

I know Pete, I have run a photo community site myself. But it really does get frustrating and especially for those who don't want to fight ! It isn't about winning it is about not wanting to join the battle for them. I do feel so sad. There was so much potential in that group - things that no other group was doing. Sad Sad Sad
