I finally found an hour last Sunday morning to go play with my Christmas present - a 70 - 200mm lens.

These teasels were caught in the early morning light against the river, and I'm pleased they are as sharp as they are considering the camera was hand held and there was a slight breeze coming off the river.

A lovely lens, i have one too and i love it, i use it mainly for wildlife and portraits.
you have shown here at f2.8 it puts the background way out of focus giving the subject taken a real prominence in the picture and that is what this lens does so well.
Have fun with your new lens i am sure you will love it.
