Couldn't resist going a bit dark with this one, too. Maybe I'll go for a pretty, dreamy look on the next... Just enjoying playing at the moment.

A sense of mystery about this one. You've caught the moment well, very good timing.

Lovely tones and framing.
their is some kind of halo around her that is giving a almost cut out look.
If you see what i mean. Smile

Andy...

Thanks fellas.
Thanks Andy. I tried to get rid of the sharpening halo when I sharpened the pic, because it was particularly marked, but maybe I didn't go far enough.

you could try selective sharpening, add a duplicate layer in PS, sharpen it to suit, add a layer mask and click "hide all", then (if your mask is white) you use a black brush to just burn through the bits that you want sharpened,
if you make a mistake just change your brush to white and you can cover the mistake, once satisfied flatten the image. cheers martyn

Very effective, atmospheric shot. Antony

Thanks Martyn, and everyone. That's very similar to what I did, Martyn, but didn't mask the bit I should have done enough. Smile I've gone back to the original file and done it now, and it does look better.

This almost looks like a hand tinted old sepia print, and i agree with whoever it was said 'timeless'. Brill.

Leigh this is excellent. I love the toning, dof and movement in the foreground grass. Superb.

I do like it, BUT I think there is too much contrast as the background sand is very dark, also I might have cloned out the people on the beach, I havnt read the comments above as I make my own mind up first.
I do like the fact your trying something new, though you still think too much, lol
Keep messing, I do like where its going.

Thankyou Sandy.

Steve, I thoroughly appreciate your honest feedback. I never thought about cloning people out in the bg - there you go - I don't think enough!

Dave, thankyou so much for your award - that really means a lot.

could be straight out of the movie "Atonement" that took place on Redcar beach Leigh as it reminds me of of an old type film & processing.
