The colour faded from the sky and I put my camera away, but then suddenly there was an amazing pink afterglow, so the camera quickly came back out, though I didn't really spend much time trying to get the best composition.

You managed the image remarkably well, the delicate lines of the bridge work well against the colour. That last look back payed dividends.
