Going to the same tracks, taking photos of the same cars week in, week out, I often struggle to find new angles and different approachs to keep an eliment of freshness is what I take.
The shot above was taken with a 10-24mm lens to try and capture short oval motorsport in a different perspective. It's a static grid shot just HDR'd.

So let me get this right, these guys are not moving. I don't know what you would have been allowed to do there but perhaps a stepladder (or getting on someone's shoulders), or being really low down and much closer to the front car would have been more use to get a different perspective? I don't really think the HDR adds anything to this shot but, having said that, I do like the framing and composition.
Keep pushing the envelope!
