I've tried to incorporate all the feedback I got from yesterday's upload (thanks very much everyone) into this version of the shot.

I just looked at your picture from yesterday and the mods. i prefer your version yesterday - but hey we all have different ideas ![]()
just one suggestion if i may; i think you have to try and position yourself so that you can catch the guys face as he is surfing - not easy at all! (dont take the comment the wrong way - its a good picture, i just think you need to get the face if poss' ).
the waves normally hit the beach from one end or the other depending on wind, fetch, etc so depending on light etc there's usually one spot that should be ok for face shots... just my 2p worth.
take a look at magicseaweed.com photos for some ideas (not all good!)
Thanks for taking time to comment Ellie and Jonny.

In this case I would have been about 100 yds off-shore and me 40D isn't waterproof! ![]()
I think this guy must have been left-handed because he always seemed to end up facing the wave like this, most of the others I got face on.
In this case I think not seeing the face added to the "Arty" feel (but I realise its not a "proper" surfing shot, which was why I put it up for critique yesterday)
