A Spotted Fritillary butterfly taken at sunset...

... swinging in the wind on a head of grass...

Provence 2009

It amazed me how this butterfly wanted to stay on this perch... the wind was so wild... I wondered if it was the butterfly version of a rollercoaster ride!

A cracking shot of this beautiful butterfly, the detail, colours and clarity are most impressive especially considering the weather conditions. Your description of the butterfly swaying in the wind reminded me of the problems I had photographing butterflies last summer on Rodborough Common in Stroud

Wow, Seriously an honour Bri! Thanks!
As tricky as it is... all my best butterfly shots are taken in the wind...!
