The Magician's Apprentice....the rabbit that is! Wink

Happy New Year to you all.....and hope those hangovers are starting to ease (Sut) Wink

Went to see my friend today and her Mum Dot came over to have her roast chicken, new years day diner. I took her the usual packet of those mini marsbar chocolate rolls (She loves em) She did make us laugh telling us.... "Only another 17 years and then I will be 100"

On her knee is the family rabbit who lives indoors.....and can I think of the bloomin rabbits name!!!!
(Need DaveU to make one up for me) (Well Thanks Dave....Roger was so original Wink )

I txt'd my friend to find out the rabbits real name and it's...... Boxer
....If I had remembered the name I could of called the image "A boxer Tricks" Wink

Lots of button pressing for the end result...

Thanks for stopping by

C&C welcome...

Like this a lot! If I should suggest any alternative version, you could use a different chair, as the thumbnail indicated that the lady has whiskers.
It also seems that she is not sitting straight on the chair. But maybe tilting the whole picture to the left would be good.

My initial thought was that little red riding hood was having a day off so grandma had a present waiting for the wolf.

Any shot that makes you stare at it for more than a couple of minuites has got to be a winner.

Gosh but this is a corker Alley, and no I don't want to see a colour version. The tones and textures here are all a simple Brummie needs. And what a great model Dot makes ... so dignified and confident.

It's a beauty but for the life of me I can't think of a name for the ruddy rabbit ... so Thumper it must be.

Although it might have benefited from a touch of contrast to lift it, especially before printing, I was struck by the almost surreal image that arose from what I suspect was an everyday occurrence.

Her expression of sheer contentment contrasts well with the slightly suspicious untrusting look of the rabbit and it is these two elements that made this stand out for me.

On the subject of the radiator…well I also suspect that this was not posed or set up in any great way and the subject was sat here before you even picked the camera up and so for me, does not pose any problems to speak of.

Well done on an excellent POTW.

Thats Brilliant...THANKS so very much Smile Smile Smile

Keith: Thanks for you comment....and your right....the shot was not set up it was literally taken as I was about to leave. I had gone to see my friend to do some shots she urgently needed for her agent as she is a Blondie tribute singer. I had not intended to take Dots pic and had put all my camera stuff away in its bag....but as Dot was sitting there petting boxer on her knee....I asked if she would like me to take thier photo and she said she would. I literally turned her in her seat to face the window light a little more and took the shot...... radiator and all.

Boxer the rabbit does have a daily run around thier house and a mad half hour chase about with thier cats as well!

Thanks again everyone for taking the time to stop by and give your congrats....I am well made up and appreciate them very much Smile

Dot will be so very pleased when I tell her....I will be doing her a print...and with a touch more contrast as Keith suggested.
