Fieldfare taken in our garden during the spell of bad weather.
Large V is bigger !
RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch.
Takes place this coming weekend - 30-31 Jan.
Can you spare just 1 hr on either of these days to record the birds that you see in your garden.
If you do not get many birds in your garden it is still worth doing it as it is just as important to know where birds are not plentiful as it is to know you have a garden full of different species.
You can download record sheets or you can send your records on line.
You can find more information here BIG GARDEN BIRDWATCH
I hope some of you will join in - cheers.

as a member of RSBP I shall of course be taking part in the bird watch in fact I look forward to it - good pose on the field fare a little snow in the b/g and the apples they enjoy - well done a good shot
A beautiful image Brian, lovely exposure, composition. No garden, have arranged to use a friends for the purpose.

Given the environmental difficulies, you got the exposure spot on Brian. Lovely crisp details too, a really fine shot.
An excellent image of this fieldfare Brian, I like the way you've captured him jealously guarding his apple. Count me in for the Big Garden Birdwatch too
I will make sure to do so, Brian, just hope its not a gale, its a windy time of year for us.
Lovely take of the Fieldfare, looks like he's posed for you,
well captured,
Adrian
Fabulous capture and a terrific pose !! Very well captured...
Some fine detail in this one Brian, never easy in the snow, wish they would visit us at times ![]()
Will be counting,
Geoff.
Watcha Brian,
well caught image.
the birdwatch is a waste of time for me, since we moved to March, last September, we've seen hardly any birds in the back garden, a couple of sparrows and blackies, and I do mean hardly any. Up above there are ofted a few crows and seagulls winging around, I've seen a couple of magpies up Gaul Road and loads of Pheasants and geese out in the country lanes, but in March, bird life is practically zero.
best
Mick
