Burnham Beeches is an area forestry with specimens dating back 500 years. Originally heavily pollarded, it is now a protected site of 540 acres seemingly left to deteriorate naturally.

This is one of a few snaps taken on the 11/11 outing.

Many thanks for your motivational comments.

I was a little dissapointed with the shot myself. When I scouted BB 2 days earlier there was sunlight through the trees and the stream contained sparkle and highlights (no photo taken however) On 11/11 it was dull unfortunately. I will try again if I can get wet leaves followed by sun shine.

For composition I try to follow the tips given at this site...

composition rules but at BB these are difficult to apply.

Lovely composition - nice contrast between the still green trees and the wonderful copper ground level.

Nice colours and a good subject. The gully leads the eye into the scene.

It was nice to meet you Barry - very good that you joined a meet only two weeks after joining EPZ!

I think you have captured the spirit of BB rather well here, actually.
