My brother with is lovely wife and my soon to be nephew Smile i can't believe that i will soon be "Zia Paola" (auntie Paola) wow i am getting old! hahaha... anyway my sister in law asked me to take some pictures of her pregnant to show her son in the future, i was very happy to do it, so we even managed to convince my brother to be in some pictures, this is my first try at some "important" photos I hope they are not bad, these are the ones they liked better.
I think that there is nothing more beautiful than a pregnant mother

Ah the beauty of motherhood so well captured .... I prefer the toned version of no2 a nice warmth to that but both are grand , and you have taken many important images Paola Smile

I like all 3. Really well shot. You can just see the happiness in their faces. Very well lit and nice softness about the shots. These guys will look back in years to come and be very proud of these. Really well done

3 superb images that I am sure they are very pleased with. I wonder if you could have found something else forher to hide the lower half of her body with instead of the jeans; they look so unflattering under the bump.

Wow Paola.....I mean, really, properly.....WOW!!! These are utterly, utterly beautiful........wonderful light (what did you light them with?), fantastic tones, superbly sharp, amazing expressions and poses....just utterly, utterly, utterly beautiful............

Probably, bar a couple of self portraits, the best shots you have produced on this site. They are heartbreakingly lovely....

Is there ANYONE thats slightly less good looking in your family?!!!???!!! lol! Smile Just not fair..... Wink

Fabulous stuff Paola and as I said before, its fantastic to see your skill and eye CAN be translated into a different style of image and still come up with the goods......

Phew, I need a sit down now...... Smile

Nice set of shots.
The first one seems a bit 'hot' in places, the back of the hand, the belly, the nose, the cheek . This I think would be a better picture, if you could 'cool' these down a bit. The second one is less affected.
I 'm not sure about the way she seems to be holding her boob up, rather than just covering it.
I agree with Paul about the jeans( both sets as the holes are distracting as well ) , I think naked would have been better, but there might be modesty issues!

wow thankyou so much everyone, I am so happy with the comments, I will show it to them, i am sure they will be very happy tooSmile
I agree about the Jeans, but unfortunately she is too shy to be naked in a photo and she was also a bit nevous about being naked at the to too, i think it shows the way she is holding her breast, she is nearly squeezing it Smile but I understand her and am very proud that she asked me to do it, and not to talk about my brother, he would NEVER be naked in front of his little sister! hahaha....

John you flatter me always so much Smile I realy appreciate that you liked the photos.
the camera is my one the Canon 40D, but the lens is the famous L lens of my friend, he lend it to me and also a studio light, the lens is a Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 L USM not sure what all those numbers and letters mean, but I know i love it Smile i have no idea what the studio light is though, he was kind to let us use his little studio Smile i can ask him.

No worries Paola...I appreciate an image that is good for what it is....which these are. I like to look at the whole...and you have bought beauty and soul to these people. Thats they asked....

As for the set up, the lens I do know, its very nice. Its whats tempting me, along with the 70-200mm f2.8 that you also know, to change to Canon. I will have to start saving my pennies... Wink

As for the light, no worries, I didn't realise it was a studio. For a first time (I presume it is), you have done superbly well. Very well lit indeed!

I agree with you, there are few sights more beautiful than a pregnant woman.

Un insieme Semplicemente meraviglioso di ritratti di famiglia "zia Paola"! - Congratulazioni.

Do you know why these work so well? Trust and confidence in the photographer always reflects in a more natural and relaxed pose. Yes, there might have been slight nervousness at the outset, but taken by an unfamiliar photographer, these results would have been quite different.

Reading through your personal portfolio comments, I know you want to improve and be more technically proficient (don't we all) - but for once, forget about the minor criticisms and subjective comments, as a group, you have really created something to treasure.

I like V1 for (the support of the right hand under the bump, and the reassuring clasp of the left hands). V3 (because it displays anticipation, love, pride, and wonderment). In portraits the face says it all (not the jeans - without them, it would probably have made it vulgar). All three pictures display contentment, and the facial expressions are relaxed. You have succeeded in producing a wonderful image and future memento.

You should be proud of your achievement Paola, thank you for sharing.

Tom
