These 2 admirals gave me the runaround and confused me yesterday..
I caught the tatty one v3/4 first, it landed on the hedge (or so I thought) but it wasn`t so tatty, then realised there`s 2 of them.. Then they started messing me about by fluttering round my head and landing on my arm .. I must have looked strange trying to point the camera at myself v5...
All one handed macro shots..
Thanks for all the brilliant comments and all the clicks on my big spider shots, very much appreciated xxxxxx

Fantastic detail, unusual colouring. The red admirals I see have a lot more red where yours are orange.I understand these butterflies do not hibernate over here so the early ones are foreigners!

Great shots, Bun. I'm looking forward to the first ones to arrive here. I may not see as many this year as I have had two of my buddleia killed by the Winters' extremely cold weather.

Who needs a work out in the gym when they've got butterflies to run around after! Well caught (poor tatty one!).

I agree with Ed, V1 for me. You definitely have a way with critters, but perhaps the alternative to chasing them around is to stay still, then they land on you. Great shots, as usual.
