Superb image Simon, even by your standards. So much pathos and yet the sun still shines on him (love the way the shadows mimic sunrays).

In the clearing stands a boxer
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of ev'ry glove that layed him down
Or cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame
"I am leaving, I am leaving"
But the fighter still remains

This is totally wonderful, so much weight of personal history.

Love the diagonal stripes of light and shadow and the resultant highlight on the upper part of his face. My favourite boxer ever was Cuban - Teofilio Stevenson who died on June 11th this year.

The broken chair, the flaking paint. A career that has wained. Much to think about in what at first appears to be a straight-forward image, Si.

Love Malc's comment above - not much to add to what has been said already, except it's another superb character study by you Si!

A character study that packs some punch Si, I like the faraway look in his eyes, no doubt he's reminiscing about past glories in the ring
