I really like this image. I feel it's telling me a story, making a statement. Lots of atmosphere here. I've made two mods suggesting other approaches using this capture. Others would be able to do the mostly mono/bw more skillfully no doubt.

Ian

Welcome to EPZ Caisii.

This is a lovely shot, projecting a great atmosphere and suggesting isolation and the loneliness of the walker.

It can benefit with being exposed a little more, - its about a stop underexposed. Its possible that in Program AE mode the metering was compensating for a brightness in the sky and from the mist. I like the portrait format, though I think cropping to move the man to one side and reduce the height a little will give a better overall composition.

I have loaded a mod with theses suggestions which I hope you like.

Regards

Willie

Hi Caisii welcome to EPZ,

Wow what a great image, I really think that this is very well thought out and well captured shot. The mods from Ian, Frank and Willie really make this shot into a winner for me although I think that the image needs the space at the top so maybe a crop off the top and right side as in Willie's mod is my favourite. The mist, the railway lines and person in red really work well together and you've captured it beautifully, I would like to know if this was set up or just snapped but I would suspect it is the latter. If I could give my user award in the critique area I would have given it to this image so well done.

I couldn't improve on the critique above so I had a little play with the image using ACR and NIK software's Viveza and Define and uploaded a mod where I copied Willie's crop, gave the bottom half of the image some more structure, brought the blacks up, cloned out some slightly distracting features, lightened the image, adjusted contrast, enhanced the red and blue then added a vignette finishing off with Define to reduce noise in an attempt to show you what could be done in a short time with this image.

I hope you like it and I hope to see a modified version from you in the normal uploaded images area where I suspect it would do well.

I really like this pic of a misty morning and the colourful clothing the pedestrian is wearing it draws the eye and makes the picture, however I feel the pic is top heavy and a little too dull.
I have rectified this in my mod,I hope you approve.
