Stuck in a 2 hour long traffic jam on US 93 in Arizona I got chatting to Travis who was sheltering from the baking heat in the shade of the scrub in the central reservation. A Vietnam veteran who lived in the hills you see behind him. An interesting wee insight into life in the desert and one man's story. I asked for a picture before the traffic started rolling again - I was hoping for something mean and moody but he broke out into this big friendly grin!

Life goes on after a tour of duty in Viet Nam it seems, but he hides away from people too.
Dougie
There are lots of recluse from the former soldiers who were involved in the Vietnam War.
Travis seems in pretty good shape.
