I love old trucks and rusty things I don't know why they are so appealing to me. I guess its the colors.

Cutting off the front of the near truck spoils this shot for me. I am guessing you were trying to make sure you got all of the one behind.
What would be worth trying, if you have another chance here, is to get more in front of the truck and shoot so not only is it all visible, but the one behind is either fully or partially visible through the window?
I like the colour of the earth, and it works with the gas tank well. So perhaps a shot of the front truck without the rear one in the frame at all would also be worth trying?
Willie
I think this location has potential, but you haven't quiet got this shot right. The fact that both trucks have bits excluded from the frame is a shame.
There are some great colours to be seen in the earth and the rust is complimentary, so if you can I'd recommend giving it another go.
You are not alone in your attraction to "old trucks and rusty things", Cathy, there are many on this site who feel the same. There is even an unofficial RAS (Rust Appreciation Society). I agree that this location has a lot of potential. It would be worth going in close for the rusty detail, too. You have good focus and colour, and have used dof to good effect. The fact that neither truck is completely within your frame is something to think about when taking other shots. There is a fine line between omitting a part of your subject and going in closer for detail, thereby omitting quite a lot. The first can simply look like a mistake, whereas the second looks like a considered and deliberate attempt at a closeup. To give you an idea of what I mean, I have done a modification where I chose a square crop, including both trucks, but less of them, as if it was your intention to just include a part of both in the frame, and leave the rest to the viewer's imagination.
There is a shaft of light running across the bottom front of the foreground truck, which I removed with the burn tool, and I also added a touch more contrast.
Pamela.
Thank you for your comments, it really does help the way that I look at a photo or a subject that I want to shoot. The few comments that I have received and the modifications have helped so much. I hope that I can learn from them. It is interesting that we all see things so differently. I think that's the beauty of Photography. C![]()
