how did I do

how did I do by minicooper

If you like it then half the battle is won, Dennis Wink

Technically, nice and sharp but there are a couple of burnt-out areas on the face. No doubt that's down to getting the feel of your new kit and, judging by your PF, once you are familiar with it the results should be as good as the rest of your portraiture.

Think I would have preferred the background a bit more out of focus but you did say you were short on space so maybe not a great number of options available.

Aesthetically, I'm not sure about the pose. It feels a little cramped to me and I would have preferred the young lady to be looking at the camera (she looks like she has lovely eyes). Just my opinion - others will differ Smile

Overall, beats my first attempt with studio lighting hands down Wink

In the stream

In the stream by bjarte

Lovely tonal quality and smooth, dreamy water. Not so sure about the composition, though. I would have shot more at an angle so the furthest end of the plank was roughly where it is but the closest end was more towards one or other bottom corner - probably the left. Also I would be tempted to try a slightly shorter exposure, resulting in a bit more definition in the water. Having said all that, I'd still hang it on the wall Smile

Exotic bird

Exotic bird by borderpix

Nice and sharp on the eye and good depth of field. The background isn't too distracting but the bottom left foreground draws my eye away from the bird.

I've uploaded a mod which I cropped a little tighter and quickly cloned out the bottom left.

Window by Rende

Lovely colours and textures. Simple yet very effective shot. Well done

Nice action shot - well captured. I think including some point of reference to show the height reached might have made it more dramatic.

Nice capture! Love the expression on his face and the poise.

Living the Vida Loca by Goggz

Nice shot. Personally I prefer the colour to the mono. Nice depth of field and he certainly looks like he's waxing lyrical.

Like this shot. Nice forground interest, a lead-in with the stones and good colours. Great shot.

Nice set - prefer the second shot personally.

Breakthrough! by jeanie

Beautiful shot - your perseverance paid off with dividends.

An adorable wee thing and nicely captued. This is my favourite of the three and I also don't find the arm too distracting.

Very nice shot

Love it Fran - well deserving of the award.

Bed Time

I'm with the majority here, Glenn - I also prefer it in mono.

Nice composition - lovely photo.

Kim by stingfocus

The necklace looks odd to me and on the first glance I too wondered what it was. Not keen on the pose - I would have preferred to see her head up a little more. Just my opinion

Twin falls

Have to agree with Chris on this one.

Why not go back and have a go with a longer shutter speed and tripod and post the result here. I would recommend you use a remote release or self-timer so that you don't get any camera movement.

Nice idea.
