Oh, there's some really interesting features on what appears at first glance to be a really ugly building. Like the geometry and colours in this, but "no standing" - this must be an Americanism, does it mean people? !!!

'no standing,' refers to motor vehicles whether occupied or not. usually goes something like this: you pull up to your friend's building to pick them up for a night out. your friend lives on the 7th floor so you sit in your car with the motor running. you're not there two minutes before one of new york's finest taps on your car window with his night stick. you roll the window down and he barks at you: ' let's go - keep it movin'!' =)
Definitely America and Americana too - I agree with Lydia; one needs to take a closer look at the building too - wonderful patterns in brickwork.
