This fella was rescued yesterday evening, not from the pool but from a very boisterous labrador, who only wanted to play with him
Fine detail and caught well Carol ...Bill

Your dog must have a very gentle mouth, the hopper looks fine! A good capture, by both of you!!
"I think that the Labrador would have had his work cut out with the size of this monster?" A great extremely high quality macro, which certainly allows me to freely roam each and every millimetre until my heart and eyes are content.
How do you get them to sit so still, hypnosis? Another superb close up and another brilliant beast.
Two great shots Carol, those eyes are amazing!
Another fantastic and great macro shot,Carol,V1 is my favorite,
And he didn't by his expression. Lovely details Carol.
Very good close ups Carol. That is a brave dog who would want to play with this beastie . Moira
Great detail captured in these two fine close-up shots.
Two excellent close ups Carol.
Wow! Stunning shots!
Like living suits of armour.
Amazing eyes, and not something I'd want in my toy box!
What a character this one is
and a lucky rescue from what you say
b...y marvelous. We got the same type here, I think they are very handsome.
I always wondered what the little srcew above the second leg holds
Poor thing......well rescued again: and two great shots.
Soft mouth that's why they retrieve, lucky hopper, two good close up macros like both, regards Leon.
Though a little outclassed for size and no doubt enthusiasm, he still looks great in these macros.
I'm lichen these close ups very much indeed Carol, this is top quality macrowork
Two superb macro shots Carol, the detail is incredible.
Great shots, Carol.
What a lovely looking hopper! What a good rescue!
Excellent takes as per usual!
For me this is one of your very best Carol, clear BG's are not everyone's cup of tea but I like it........the hopper stands out beautifully, really well done,
I am glad he is not really this size fantastic duo
Just brilliant, Carol - in V2 he looks like he's about to say thank you for rescuing him!
I think this is bigger than the labrador. A super image Carol.
That is most impressive Carol and V1 has the edge, so perfectly detailed
So glad you came to the rescue Carol, great captures and V1 for me, at a later date I have one to upload with a funny story.
Excellent Carol. V1 for detail V2 for impact.
V1 works better for me Carol, but once again two cracking images.
Two outstanding shots the detail is amazing
Superb shot Carol. This one's a real poser. Hope the dog didn't frighten him too much. My little Cavalier King Charles was only interested in squirrels. Sadly his old age caught up with him and he departed this world 6 weeks ago. Starting to get over it a bit now though.
Looks a brute Carol - hope the dogs OK. V1 for me.
Cant see him being that enthusiastic about the labrador Well saved Carol, Beautiful shots Love the pose in V2!
I think I see it in the eyes, an empathy with the photographer, gratitude for being saved, a definite rapport. They love you!
I can only upload V1 Carol (free wifi in a Spanish bar) but s/he is gorgeous. Well done for the rescue.
Two brilliant close up images Carol, excellent captures.................
'Superb Images & Composition' ~ Peter
A brilliant as the last hundred or so

YOU ARE AWSOME, I wish I could capture these bugs like you.... I have much to learn!
