The first time this year I have seen and captured two common blues creating more common blues! The one on the right was rather tatty, but I still thought it made a pleasing photo.

These are excellent. The butterfly doesn't seem to care that the other one is a little bedraggled. Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Well, the supply of photo ops is unceasing!! Well spotted.
Tatty? Guess that beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder and clearly she's beuaitufl to her more colourful partner! Such a lovely set.

Beautifully captured trio Carol,excellent work.
Very well captured Carol
So, this must show the difference between the male and female, although which is which? Or is the one one the right just getting past its prime? Just looking at this from a natural science viewpoint.
I once captured two swallowtails flying side by side, and on bugguide.net they told me I had the fortune of getting both a female and male in the same capture - if they hadn't pointed out the very slight variations in marking, I never would have seen it.
It's as if all the insects are competeing for your attention! They certainly got it here! Super trio.
Had a very rough crossing to France and the weather was very cold and cloudy but we did visit a tropical garden which was partly sheltered from the wind. Only returned this morning so hence the late upload. Sylvia
Another trio of expertly captured macro's, Carol, simply superb.

Three amazing photos of these so tiny flittery butterflies , so detailed. I expect you were lucky to catch them as they were more interested in what comes naturally xxxx
A splendid set Carol, the male does look rather tatty but he obviously still has some life left in him yet!
'Excellent & very lovely Butterfly set of Captures'...Peter
