Apologies for the lack of votes/comments, having had two days without electricity, it then returns, and I find I have lost my internet connection! Hopefully all is back again now, fingers crossed!
I have no idea what this furry little chappie is, found feeding from a scabious, so an ID would be much appreciated.

Excellent macro work — and surprisingly cute for a fly!

I'm not a fan of the frame in #1, though. It hems the eye in the middle of the frame, which is rather claustrophobic. #2 and #3 work much better in that regard, though I find even #2 to be a little close.

It looks very similar to a Bee-fly (if it were in UK I'd say a Heath Bee-fly). Well caught, it's fascinating to see the different flies there are around!

A tiny little world. I'm interested in DRicherby's comment on framing, sometimes I find this type of presentation intrusive but here it seems to contain the subject rather well, give it its own little space.
