Lamium purpureum is otherwise known as the red deadnettle, and has an unpleasant smell. It is found in fallow fields and meadows. It is used as a healing agent and an anti-catarrhal.
Beautiful image Carol, Very well presented.
Deadnettle looks good and smells bad
V.V good image well presented.
3 fab images Carol. I love V1.
You're getting good at this! Nice shot. Any chance of some 'moody' sea scapes from your part of the world?
Fantastic Versions Carol .
Three fine images and interesting info. Does it really relieve catarrh?
Superb detail .
Beautiful textures and patterns on those hairy leaves Carol. I like the light and angle on version 2 best.
Carol, you give us a view of some absolutely wonderful plants and most out in the wilds. Thanks, these are stunning. Trish

These are all wonderful shots Carol.
I like how the different coloured backgrounds give a completely different look to the plant.
superb detail and presented beautifully
Lovely crisp detail again Carol - V2 for me as the focus rests more on the actual flower. Love the way the light shows off the tiny furry bristles on the leaves.
This is really beautiful Carol....great photo...
Lovely furry details
Beautiful images Carol
Great close ups with excellent detail and colors!
Wonderful as always.
All wonderful Carol, think I like #3 best,
Love the colours and presentation.
Well detailed Carol.
Such a beautiful flower Carol, so well detailed with lovely colors, three great presentations.
I love the shape of this flower, Carol. The detail is as excellent as always. Good job it's not 'smelly' vision though.
Very similar to something I currently have coming up all over my back yard. Probably a different variety that is able to endure the dry conditions here - but it does smell bad. Also, the flowers are very tiny.
These are excellent, finely detailed captures.
Like the detail you have captured, especially in the leaves, Nice one Carol
Excellent detail Carol.
A lovely image and colours, a lovely presentation.
Another great set of images Carol
Presented well with top detail Carol....Bill

3 detailed beauties.
love it full of rich detail and the colour is great
Another beautiful image and presentation Carol lovely detail light and tones.
I thought for a moment this was an orchid Carol. You've made the humble dead nettle really beautiful! I think (for what it's worth) that V2 has a slight edge, because it seems to be a slightly better-set composition
I like them all Carol . The hairs stand out beautifully xxxxx
Lovely macro images, lovely colours and detail, beautiful
Yes, we have a similar plant here...fine shots of it.
Hairy little beastie!
Nice detail, well taken, Spot on! Click!!!
Umm I like V1 and V3 the cropped V2 is just a bit tight. All lovely and initially I though V3 for me but I am not so sure about the leaf falling across and outside the border - so as a result V1 gets my vote
No 1 for me Carol, stunning, love the detail
Lovely images Carol, V2 for me.
Lovely furry detail Carol. I like v1 and v2 best. The start black background seems to work best in my opinion
Three beautifully detailed images Carol.
