Two images of this darter, one taken in the full sunshine, the other in shade. I wonder which one you prefer?
Carol that is a tough question. They are both excellent. His little face is so cute and it looks like he is smiling in V2. Yet there is something about V1 that's beautiful. So, sorry both equal I'm afraid.......Sandy
Definitely V2 for me Carol !! Beautiful images !
Yes, V2 for me, too.
The bright image reveals the detail we expect from you, Carol.
I've got to sit on the fence and say both equal Carol - both have fine quality that only you can produce, stunning.
V2 just pips it for me Carol but only by a whisker great shots though.
Lovely as usual Carol.
I am with the majority ~ No. 2!!
V 2 just pips it for me too, Carol, the back lighting really helping to show off the intricate detail of the insect so well.
Good shots but #2 for me
A pair of quite outstanding images Carol. For me I rather like the point of view shown in image number one, however one cannot argue that image number two is superb. The back lighting bringing this gorgeous creature to life as it warms in the wonderful light.
so delicate...V2 for me
2 fine captures Carol, V2 also my favourite,
V2 is my favourite .... those wings ... whoah!!!!!
Two amazing close ups Carol. I love them both.
another one I keep trying for - well done Carol
Got to be V2 Carol.
Definitely v2 for me Carol - the light through his wings is special.
V for me. Just the right moment to catch him/her.
I'm going for V1 Carol.Maybe I should change my mind as everyone else is going for V2. I do wish you wouldn't give us such difficult choices.
I think V2 just edges it but they are both great shots, Carol.
Excellent close ups especially V2
Two superb shots, again, Carol!!
V2 for me but, a difficult choice!!
cracking good captures
Lovely V2 .
A hard decision, Carol! Both are equally delightful, and think they're worth half a vote each
A superb pair of macro's Carol, excellent detail.
Enjoying both views ! But great to see the detail in the wings ! looks good even on my awful computer screen at work !
Two excellent shots ,Carol .........
light for me... although I like the perch in v1
V2 for me Carol - I love the way the darter stands out from the b/g.
The bright light in V2 accentuates the transparency of the wings, so V2 for me too.
That is like which do you like better, chocolate ice cream or strawberry shortcake!!!!
I love them both for different reasons.
V2 but only just, because that light enhances the lovely wing detail!
V2 great capture. 🐜😊
On gossamer wings. Superb
2 stunning images carol...well captured
Love the light on the wings in V2, superb shots Carol.
Both good images Carol, but 2 for me.
V2 gets my vote its a stunning shot.
V2 by a country mile, the light and clarity are for superior
Your pov on V1 is excellent, making the dragonfly stand proud of the blurred background, and with the foliage splaying outwards as if exploding.
Then you give us V2, with such wonderful light, highlighting those wings and giving a dark background. A much closer and more detailed shot and I can understand why most people are preferring this one.
For me, they both have their individual merits, and I can't favour one over the other.
Both excellent, Carol.
Stunning "golden Beastie" Carol... So well captured!
I like both images for different reasons... Can't pick one...
Two amazing images, but have a tendency towards V2.
V2 for me but very hard to choose because of the impact of V1 Your shots are amassing as usual.
