There don't seem to have been so many shield bugs around here this year, here are a couple of solitary fellas I have spotted and captured.
Two wonderful photos, Carol. V2 is a cracker!
Lovely detail on these two super captures, Carol. V2 is absolutely stunning.
I like the composition in v1 with the depth in it and contrasting colours
The bug in V2 has very good fashion sense and gets my vote Both images are superb Carol !!
I love them both, expertly captured as usual, however V2 with the details and colours on his back is my winner
Two fantastic shots , Carol...
We often see the plain green types in the UK but I don't know how many other varieties we might have.
Yet again, two super shots, Carol.
Both super as usual Carol, V2 for me just has the edge.
Morning Carol love V2 its like someone's hand painted it , weather's changed here today got rain
Hi Carol this is really a pin sharp image. excellent set of images but for me the V2 is the winner, very well spotted and caught the camouflaged bug..
Sod's law, I was going to put up V.2 as the lead image, but changed my mind at the last minute
They are so pretty I only find the brown one's here.
Two superbly taken and wonderfully sharp images, Carol!
V2 gets top spot today for me, today ..... just!
Such pretty critters
Yup V 2 is a winner for me today
Such pretty little bugs. Well captured. Moira
Excellent detail in both of these super macro images Carol,
Lovely crunchy texture, Carol
Cleverly camouflaged Carol.
Two beautiful captures
Love both Carol, exceptional quality.
I'm glad you found a solitary few - their colours are wonderful.
Fantastic ! I knew this was yours Carol even before I saw the name! Patti
Excellent close-ups, Carol.
Great detail. Perhaps you could start up a shield bug dating agency.
both excellent Carol V2 stands out for me today
Two sparkling shots.
Quite amazing you have spotted these. They seem the same colour as the leaves and blend in so well. And here you've captured them beautifully........Sandy
Every time its a better pic when shields appear.
Two excellent shots Carol.
What beautiful greens and purples super Carol
Two stunning shots here, Carol, the detail on these is amazing I've only ever seen one here, and if yours are the same size as mine, 1cm, then you've done an excellent job
Has to be V2 for me Carol
two super captures, v2 for the detail for me
2 brilliant images Carol they have such pretty markings,
Nowt to chose between them both
Seems as if the IS is over, but though parts of the country had rain, it totally missed us (Forecast wrong again)
Your skill in photographing bugs and insects never fails to amaze me Carol. 2 more lovely little creatures!
two great captures Carol rain today and cooler I think summer could be over .
These creatures are always favourites with me and you capture them sooooooo well.
Two beauties Carol.
Beautiful pattern on the bug in V2 Carol.
This is a real "where does the bug start & the leaf end" shot Carol - excellent detail and sharp as a tack. Lou
V1 for composition but V2 for those pink spots! Super macros with limited palette.
2. very good shots Carol
Excellent Carol . Both are pin sharp but I like the details on version 2 xx
Top macrowork Carol, as Tomcat has already stated the weather forecast is all over the shop at present, it was meant to be awful today but in fact it was ok and I managed to get out this afternoon on what is most likely to be my last butterflying expedition of 2013
