Ignore The Cameras by Carrera_c

Ignore The Cameras

Thanks a lot for the feedback and modifications guys. I'm torn weather I like the monochrome's over the colour version, I like banehawi's mono conversion with the subject really popping out, even if he is walking the wrong direction. Tongue

Monochrome works best for me, love the composition. Has a bit of an album cover feel to it.

Furry Tales

Lovely shot, I can't decide if I prefer the mono or colour, they both work really well. I think the colour adds a bit more background interest and warmth.

Nicely handled exposure, not sure about the framing though. I like the window being used to frame it, just the fact it's not straight on.

Mr Big Moon :)

You've handled the exposure very well, and the level of detail is great. Well done.

Isabel's Eye by poetslane

Isabel's Eye

Really good detail in the eye. Would be a good one to try again and possibly increase the aperture to increase the DOF and bring some more detail into the eyelash.

Bridging by PhilWhiteley

Bridging

As paulbroad said, the main problem here is the lack of light in the foreground, the only thing really well lit on the car is the license plate. Ideally you want to get a 2nd light source shining onto the car from the right side of the picture, as Paul mentioned a remote flash would be the 'normal' route here but on a compact that's not really possible, so my thought would be to get a second car and point its headlights at your subject, can play with distance, direction, and light strength - half beam, full beam, fog lights - to see which light gives the best look.

Compositionally I feel that the shot could have been improved, that bit of white paint (or whatever it is) on the road at the very bottom of the picture is very distracting, I'd probably have cropped that out so the image starts just below the cars wheels.

EINSTEIN'S THEORY by Imagephotographics

EINSTEIN'S THEORY

Nice idea, feel her top's lacking some detail, would have been nice to pull some of the blacks back to get some texture on the top. Could have also helped separate her hair from the blackboard.

Still a nice shot though.

Spider and Dinner

Great Detail, did you use extension tubes or diopters to get this level of magnification with the kit lens?
