i do agree about the fg wires. i had a go at at mod, and used the clone tool with the healing patch, taking a small section at a time and varying my selection, i selected around the wire and some sky set it to source and dragged the selection until the wire was hidden and deselected and moved along. at the pole i just used a small selection and choose replace to stop it picking up the dark patching of the pole. let me know if yiu'd like to see the mod. hope that you dont mind me taking liberties.lesley

Under the Bridge
firstly i'm no expert but my opninion for what its worth. i like the comp using the driftwood. i think i'd have used a slightly lower viewpoint to give it more dominance. i think its worth cropping the oof fg sand. you could add a alittle more contrast, selectively sharpen the bridge and fg with a layer mask. a slight boost to the saturation, thats a very individual preference though. and i'd clone the bird. lesley 01/01/2011 - 2:12 AM

Goldfinch, Chaffinch and Raven
v1 is my fav.good detail in v1 and 2. v2 has some noise in the bg which using noise reduction on a seperate layer and masking out the bird and fg would reduce. think the 1.7 convertor on the camera may have pushed it past its optimum performance, but guess you are still experimenting to see what you can get from it. hope you are enjoying the new toy.lesley

A medley of small birds
i'm impressed with the quality. v1 and 2 i think are excellent and lovely and sharp. v3 is soft around the head but that might be cos he moved. v6 generally looks soft especially from mid wing to the tail. but i think this has alot of potential, for ease of carriage and use, hope you are pleased with the results. lesley

Open says me…..
hi sushilif you want to you can extend your sky. first expand your canvass at the top, then using the rectangle tool select the top part of the sky. then copy and paste it onto a new layer, then use the move tool to move the new sky into position.then merge down. if like me you incorporated the top of the tower in your selection then clone it out. Then i just used the healing brush to run over the join line to smooth it. then cropped off the bottom of the water.hope this helps.lesley

Winding railings
some good points raised above. perhaps a higher viewpoint would show off the curve of the railings better. when taking the pic you really need either good light or a very moody sky. unfortunately this one has alot of grey.I'm not sure how familiar you are with PS but there are some good tutorials on the site if you need guidance.lesley

Cats ready for the catch
for me the cats waiting for their supper makes a smashing picture, but they need to be the focus of the pic, so i've cropped to emphasise them and losing the distracting rock. also your horizon is abit off dipping to the right. if you get the chance i'd zoom in on them more to get better definition of the cats.lesley

my guitar gently weeps
v2 for me. i wouldnt pass over a shoot for processing, i hate it! your selection with the dropper and fuzziness slider needs abit of modification as there are some remnants of the bg around the model, more noticeable around the head. I just used the clone tool set to mode lighten (on the top panel) with a hard brush and opacity 30% and went along the edge of the model, it didnt take long. think its worth masking back in the line of the stool as it gives a grounding for the model.lesley

milk crate
hi diana,do like the perspective of the 10-20 with close ups. you didnt mention how you adjusted your bg, i have done a mod with the description of how i did it, with PS theres loads of different ways of achieving the same result. I like what youve achieved, perhaps the skin tones are alittle harsh compared to the original, but it depends on the look that you are after. Youve certainly got the haughty look you were aiming for.lesley

Bales
think youve controlled the exposure well, and have a nice natural look. i've tried to enhance it alittle by using a neutral density grad filter, and increasing the saturation of the fg.feel the comp is alittle biased to the left, in the 2nd mod i've flipped it and cropped slightly to put the horizon and tree on the thirds.just having a play.lesley
