A black-headed gull taken earlier this year on Brownsea Island. I waited ages for the bird to take off from the post, but I knew that if I took my eye away from the viewfinder it would go.
These gulls look a bit different now as they have lost their breeding plumage - the black head (which is more brown). They are very common birds but quite photogenic.
What a shot,brilliantly captured.
Love the moment you captured it looking down.
Excellent capture. Nice bird in-flight image.
Well captured. Impressed with the sharpness of the wings,as they must have been beating very fast . Click

excellent shot, timming perfect.
great fun watching gulls, you certainly have the hunter instinct in you, being able to wait in ambush to get this beautiful shot. The light and composition on the birds posture really emphasize the plumage, and the action of the wings, brilliant i love it.
