Hi folks. The reason for my absence on the site is not as I am too ill to come on,but more to do with time. The time I spend during the day on my nebuliser machine and puffing away at my inhalers, there is just no time left !! There is a definate improvement in my condition and hopefully the time spent puffing away on inhalers and nebulisers will be cut down. There is no problem with me stopping smoking.I no longer have time for a fag !! I have really missed you lot and making my comments on your pics.I am confident I will be fully active shortly to resume my critiques on your work. You have had a long enough break from me now,and I will expect to see a higher standard of work from you all.If not,I fear I will not be so soft on you as I have in the past.Make the best of what little rest time you have before I am back fully operational, and heed my warning.I intend to come back with a vengence !!

I hope you don't think because I am onto your photo within three minutes of you uploading it that I have been lurking, Mick. Even though like Frankie Howerd's Roman slave character I am reasonably good at hanging around for a chat when cornered, and even when not cornered ![]()
Of course you have been missed, and by quite a few anxious people. Questions have even been asked in The House. Not the House of Commons, of course, though that might just have been the next thing. I have even tried assuring my various contacts that they can't get rid of you that easily. But some of them simply won't take my word for an answer. To put it in a nutshell, everybody is itching to know how you will vote in the Great Debate in 2014: are you going to become independent or not?
However, I have not attempted to answer the question for them. I can not see the Dockers' Club declaring independence from Leith; although I s'pose Big Aggie has already tried pouring the beer in the harbour. No Tea Party, just the Guinness Party ![]()
SO: I am glad to learn that you are pretty much under control. For our part, while Moira has been practising her technique for converting colour to b&w I have perfected the art of toasting my toes with a fan heater. Not very photographic, I know, but at least I have avoided frostbitten chilblains for another winter.
Good to know you're around, sharpening your critical faculties and preparing to whip the R.A.S. into some sort of order in the very near future.
Best regards
Bill
I suppose we are going to see more rubbish and rust for the rest of the year. Mind you it's taken you from August until now for you to upload this so I guess we will just have to see what happens.
What's the point in uploading an image anyway, so far not one person has commented on it.
A fine shade of blue with a down pipe just to prove your verticals are vertical. Keep them coming Mick but most of all look after yourself and when you pick up that Nebuliser just remember that old Chinese proverb... A puff a day makes you work.rest and play.
Rust has been notably absent of late, Mick. You return in time to oxidise the RAS into action ![]()
Dave
Hi Mick,
I`m fairly new around here and have just had a look at your gallery. All dam good stuff. I will be looking out for your pictures.
Pleased to hear you are getting better, nebuliser machines and inhalers have been a big part of my life in the past. Got all that out of the way and now making good progress too.
Richard.

Its sooo good to see you around - I know what its like being on a ventilator - I was in ITU on one for three weeks at one point - its hard going just to breath - hopefully you will soon be over the worst and with spring on the way which is something to look forward to as well ![]()

Glad to hear you are on the mend Mick and that you have successfully given up the dreaded weed. Love this colourful, textural shot.
Abstract lines, peeling (blue
) paint, decay, a padlock, even a hint of rust in the drainpipe. Like a breath of fresh air... Great to see you back. We will try to keep you supplied with the finest grot but I must warn you that I have oil cans to upload... ![]()
Take care, make sure you are waited hand on foot. Oh I forgot, you are doing that already...
Moira
Looking forward to see you coming back with a vengeance Mick! ![]()
I see you're taking it easy with the rust just yet, but the composition is excellent and the tones and colours and wonderfully mellow.
Once you're off those inhalers and nebulisers you'll start corroding our computer screens again! ![]()
Rende
Glad to see you making a reappearance, Mick, and equally glad to know you are steadily improving.
Just hope you continue in that direction and hopefully when the better weather comes in you will be able to get and about again.
And I would have guessed this was one of your's........it has that hallmark on it......excellent detail and textures in this 'blue image'.
Kindest regards,
Ronnie.
Mick -- good to hear of your improved health.
I will take your warning to heart and make sure my postings are of the highest quality.
Regarding this image of yours -- VERY nice. I like the comp. and the colors and detail are engaging.
Welcome back.

What an odd placed to position a rainwater pipe ![]()

Just get back - vengeance or not ![]()
So glad to make this 30 Mick, and so good to see an upload from you, and a very good one at that.
Keep smiling mate, and I'm sure that the appearance of Spring (eventually) will make you feel a whole lot better ![]()

I wish you well young Mik and look forward to that harsh critique promised
I know what you mean re time or lack of it, I am currently spending all my time up the doctors but hey ho! If they find the problem it will be worth it, so far nothing that makes me feel any better
Didn't Frankie Vaughan sing "what's behind the GREEN door"??? Or something like it! You only have the colour wrong but very nearly there - joking apart I quite like the colour of this door
and some good blue colour
co-ordinated tones to match
Hibernating for the winter isn't such a bad idea Mick - you should have read all the moans and groans about the snow!
Glad to see you're less rusty and just feeling blue. Now after reading all these comments, you must feeling quite perky!
Hoping to see back fighting fit very soon.

So...We are being forewarned. Now every image we upload will have to be our best so we don't get the wrath of Mik put on us. I do think you are really an old softie so I for one am not too worried. Is good to see you upload again and such a pretty blue weathered door. Take care and get all better and return soon as you feel ready. ......Sandy
Bring on the critique! I am so happy to hear you are doing so much better!
Anne
It's great to see you back on site, Mick. Look after yourself and go from strength to strength.
Today's upload is super, grand colours and I just love all the flaking texture.
Lavina
Mick, I have been EPZ absent for a few months and didn't realise you had gone AWOL. Sorry to hear of your troubles and glad to hear you are 'getting there' as they say. My very best wishes for a speedy recovery and hope the inhalers 'an stuff' is not too troublesome for you.
kind regards,
Robin
Ditto to all the above.
Hope the comments bring a smile to your face.
We've missed you too, Mick. The site's been way too shiny and spotless 'cos of your absence
Glad to see you again even if just for a pop-in ![]()
And glad to hear the faglessness hasn't been getting to you! Awesome.
Ok...so I've gotta pull up my socks with my images before you get back...thanks for the warning. Hang on...I'm not wearing socks. I'll just scratch my ankles a bit then.
Andrew
A subtle ploy, or a cunning plan? Playing the sympathy card first, tightly followed by (not so) veiled threats of all kinds of dire consequences for those falling below your high standards. A true man of Leith Dockers Club indeed, and nothing less would be expected.
Good to see you have entered a Picasso inspired blue period, although I do not recall his use of locks and rust. Nor drainpipes, either.
Malc
(busy planning the 2013 Norse Jock Jorvik Expedition)
a fine capture and presentation, Mick...hope you're feeling a little less blue now! ![]()

Good to see you again Mick and I hope your health continues to improve.
Great image!
Carol
you are sounding well chirpy!!!!
i am saving some goodies for you to get your claws into
dare I mention neighbours parties ....![]()
Mick. Missing your funny comments..........great image, brill detail and colour, strange door in the wall, but has made a great comp. Hope you are feeling a bit better........
Paul.
Glad to hear that you are on the mend Mick, I look forward to seeing you back on site again in the not too distant future. It makes a change for you to be puffing away on your nebuliser machine and on inhalers rather than ciggies! No doubt you will reap the benefits in due course
Hope to see you back to your self soon, we need your guidance.![]()
Great shot, interesting how vibrant the door is against the bland walls of the building.
Andy
Reading your long speach above I am sure, you were not really feeling blue Mick! I hope to see you back to your old self in short time, and leaving your witty comments on our pfs again. Ye're missed here!
Johanna
'Superlative & beautiful color Image,' Mick~ ![]()
