Continuing two recent traits, namely Paris and B&W.
The area around Les Halles, once a marvellous place to people watch and buy a wide variety of goods at the world-famous market, is now (and has long been) a chaotic area of building works and disruption.
In the middle of all this chaos stands sanctuary in the form of the peace and tranquility of L'église Saint-Eustache. When mrs. salty and I visited, we were two of only four visitors enjoying this proud old church. Built between 1532 - 1630, it is a magnificent example of the Gothic style.
My attention was captured by a lone person, reading a newspaper in solitude, and for me, giving scale to the image. The light striking high up on the columns was a contrast I couldn't resist.
Many thanks for all recent interest and comments.
Malc
becoming - no, strike that, I mean, am already very, very fed up of rain and even more rain every single weekend.

Superb in every way. You've done the place justice.

A lovely atmosphere captured within the church, the light highlighting the Gothic architecture and beautiful ceiling.
The best I have ever seen from this beautiful church that sometimes looks so forlorn amidst the hubbub around.
The U.A. comes with my unreserved gratitude. The kind of photo that makes it all worthwhile.
Regards
Bill
The light at the top of the columns and illuminating the vaulted roof is superb and makes the whole composition zing Malc. Don't let the rain get you down, it'll go soon enough be sure.

Excellent, wonderful rich tonal value; splendid architectural shot.
Grunnen til at det regner så mye i øst norge er at dere har gjort narr av stakkars Bergenserne og regnet der
Nå får dere ta deres tur ![]()
