Another charity shop find - this time a coffee pot for a huge price of 2.49 - it had to be bought.

Then to find a suitable cup - I knew I had some little china ones - it was just case of finding where I'd tidied them away to. This tidying up lark is very over-rated you know - it all looks great but you can't find a thing.....

The beans are getting fairly ancient now but they were bought purely for photos so that's fine.

Lighting was just strobe with beauty dish but my foamboard with a rectangle cut in it placed in front to give me lots of shadows.

I'm interested in your lighting technique - and wondered how you got it so dark. A lovely old feel to this!

It's still all set up so when I get home this evening I'll take a shot or two of the setup and add it here.

Thanks everyone - one of the best things I did was chop a hole in my sheet of foamboard - it's proved very effective both with strobes and natural light.

Thanks again everyone Smile I'm just going to have a cup of tea and then will pop up and photograph the arrangement before I move it all to do a few flower pics (my flower man is starting to get the good stuff in again!)

I think this is a really good still-life. The objects are interesting, the light creates form and highlights the detail very well and it's been composed thoughtfully. Makes me want to get my paint set out againSmile Excellent work.

Alan.

Thanks again everyone Smile As usual the image is rather different viewed on my laptop as compared with the office computer from which I uploaded this. The background is much darker on the office monitor - a bit on the patchy side on this one.

I wonder which one is right?

I've vague plans to head off to an antiques/junk fair this weekend - better check the bank balance first!
