Ok - this really isn't going to appeal to many of you but I'm having great fun getting to know my new macro lens and even dead flies are acceptable subject matter.

I thought I'd see what the Lucisart Whyeth did to the resulting picture - good fun!

I suppose I should find something living but I'm used to my subject matter staying where I put it Smile

There is some good detail there, and the large version could give those of a nervous disposition a scare. Wink

Blimey - thanks everyone Smile

I understand your "urrghh" K. - there are a lot of people that will probably think exactly the same Smile

The flies have been, well, dropping like flies round here. For some reason one minute they were buzzing round the living room and all of a sudden I'm vacuuming up lots of little corpses. There must be something in the paint that I used on the walls in here that disagrees with them Smile

Great detail

I see you are getting used to your 50macro lens quicker than I am with mine....just can't get the hang of it at all.
This is amazing Alison.
You have captured some fantastic detail to this little fly...the very fine hairs, the different colours to his body & just look at that eye......WOW......

indeed laughable; this fly looks like a cow preparing to lie down.

Evening all and thank you again! A big thank you to you Hilary for your award - greatly appreciated Smile

I'm afraid the fly got ceremoniously dumped in the bin Goggz but he at least he will now live on forever in EPZ-land!

I had similar thoughts on this one Mr Macdaniel Smile poor thing must have just gone "I don't feel very well, must lie down for a rest" and only got that far!

Hey stick at it Hilary - I've produced plenty of duff shots with this lens too but I've only had it a week and am trying to allow myself 20 minutes or so each evening with it - fortunately I have no other real ties on my time in the evenings so am lucky enough to be able to do so!
