Thank you everyone - my original plan was not to have any shadows but decided that a completely plain background would be too artificial - they add a bit of life. These holders are ace - at £1.99 for two I think I'll get my moneys worth. I've some bits of copper tube knocking about - I might cut them up and see what they look like as well....
