I put this one together for the weekly B&W challenge which is 'Something Old'. However it looks somewhat better in colour so here it is.
It's a bit of a mix of old and new - obviously the lamp and bottles are reasonably old, the book certainly is as it dates back to around 1908 if not earlier. The human skull was my charity shop find last week so new to me, the rose is a couple or so years old, and the bird skull was fresh about this time last year and spent the summer in the garden rotting down.
I think I've done a better job that yesterday's attempt......

This has a wonderful "old feel" - the sepia colouring is so good.
The collection of object 'art are just great.
You're probably "dying" (pardon my pun) to use that skull, but maybe not necessary in
this image. The old letters, rose and timepiece and photo really speak for themselves.
Let's have more of these.
I think they're briliant.
PS
Did like the light changes in Robert51's mod.

A late thank you everyone - back at work today (off sick yesterday) but still a bit rough round the edges ![]()
I'm now inclined to agree that the big skull wasn't necessary but at least it made a handy prop for the book - I may well try it yet again this evening without the skull.
I could do with some appropriate old letters instead of these - in fact the book is full of recipes - I can read the Mincemeat one in this pic but can't quite see what the others are for. One day it would be nice to copy the book - maybe I'll start by photographing each page.....
Thanks for the mod Robert - a good improvement and you've certainly perked it up somewhat ![]()
