An old shot tonight fiddled with whilst I've had the carpet fitter measuring up for a quote.
I've given the front flower the LucisArt Whyeth treatment but left the back one alone.

Hello everyone and apologies once again for my late return.
Thank you alll and thank you Pete for the HC ![]()
Actually Paul, I've got to sort out some prints for a show at the end of November - maybe I'll get this printed up and see what it comes out like.
Andy - thanks to the lens I use the DOF is always pretty narrow which helps in throwing the background out. The filter I use is Whyeth by Lucisart. I've been using it a while now - either in a heavy-handed fashion or with more subtlety! It's excellent for boosting details on shots and I must admit that I find it hard not to apply it to everything. On this shot I applied it to a duplicate layer and then erased the background flower so that the softer version returned. Happily the background was nice and white so it was an easy job. By all means give me a yell if you want to know anything else. I thoroughly recommend trying out the 30 day demo - it's great on flowers, people, places - pretty much anything once you get the hang of the right settings! I never use it on my own face though - the detail is rather alarming.
