I went over to Tewkesbury today to bumble around the various junk/antique shops there. There are rather a lot - maybe 7 if not more. I gave myself a budget of £50 to spend and guess how much I spent?

£1 - yep - one whole pound on a 1908 copy of The Connoisseur - I am a big spender you know.

Anyway I figured I'd put it with a few other old bits and bobs though doubt any of the props are as old as the magazine.

I finally downloaded the software for the Huey the other evening - now I have absolutely no idea whether this looks ok or not - I'm sure you'll let me know. The display is considerably different to what I'm used to - hopefully for the better......

You prove that still life is as much in the choice of subject as it is in specialist lighting setup and so on. Great shot. ....Peter

Thanks everyone Smile

I'm going to do some image comparisons on different monitors and then keep the resulting files for reference. Maybe I'll run a few prints off this one later today and see if WISIWIG applies or not Smile

How strange - I've just come back to this one - first time since yesterday - and it looks absolutely awful. Way brighter than it appeared yesterday and the sides of the hat are a mess too. It'll be interesting to see what it looks like on the monitor at work tomorrow!
