That new Canon IS can take shots when I can't on a Monopod! It seems to gather more light than my Sigma 150 also.

... admittedly it is easier to hand hold a 100 Wink

Yes what also makes the Canon 100 IS great is it's very light weight even for a 100mm lens.

Sigma talked about a 150 IS at one point... that would be tempting although I doubt it has the same quality of stabilisation as the Canon.

Yes they have a 150IS but don't think it's yet available to buy. Like you, I don't think the IS will match the canon.
