Firstly I am not capable of producing such an image but to my eye there seems to be some conflict with the softness of the rose and the sharp detail of the lid/mirror/reflection of the compact, perhaps the rose should go and the lid/reflection softened a little, at first look my eye was immediately drawn to the reflection rather than the overall image, having said all that I have great admiration for your work.

A lovely first attempt Mozzy, next time take your camera into the garden with you, set up some perches, preferably in a well lit area, have some treats with you to tempt him and you should be rewarded, good luck.
