Thank you all for votes and comments, these lovely butterflies had a great year in my area, the best I have seen in the last 5 or so years, this was taken early evening, my favourite time for butterfly photography, as they have settled down getting the last rays of the sun and are much more approachable, I was lucky to find this one with the wings pretty much on a level plane.

Exquisite macro capture David. The detail, patterning, tones and textures of the wings are remarkable. This beauty is so well isolated from its background - it has 3D effects for me - stunning.
