Red Squirrel, taken at Averstone NR, Isle of Wight, within the reserve in a wooded area there is a dedicated Squrrel hide, a must to visit if you want to observe these beautiful little creatures at close quarters.
280mm f/5.6, 1/125sec, ISO 400, Aperture, centre weighted, monopod, December 2009.

wish I had known about the hide when we visited - never saw one I could get a pic of (just one ran across the road) really like this shot and all the fine hair on the tail is gorgeous and so well taken, he looks a bit like a cross between the black squirrel and the red
