Male Southern hawker (Aeshna cyanea), image taken 4 Sep 10, just managed one shot at this lovely dragonfly, he flew immediately after this capture.
1/640th sec, f/5.6, ISO 400, 200mm, aperture priority, centre weighted, taken at a distance of approx 10 feet.

Stunning detail David - pin sharp with superb body tones and patterning and lovely translucent wings. Love the thorny textures of the perch and the clean warm bg tones.
