Here's wishing you all a great start to a wonderful weekend!

This is Bulelani, he studies Graphic design at University and does body building part time. He agreed to allow me to use him as a model in my new studio so I could play arround with the lights and see what I could come up with using his dark complexion. I learnt via some site that I googled about hard and soft light. I used a hard light with him to try and capture definition and all that jazz.

He was my 2nd attempt at studio photography

Btw...the dark mark on his face under the eye is a birth mark. I chose to leave it in as that is a part of him. Oh....and the under wear was that bright luminous orange/red!!!

This is a very good male portrait. The lighting and processing are excellent but that bright red underwear is just that bit too bright and acts as a distraction. Leave it red but tone it down a bit. Andy

Superb image, although I find the fine red frame a little distracting..Jonathan

I agree about the underwear...that could have been toned down a touch to go with the slightly desaturated toning, but for a second attempt, this is spectacularly good! Shows of his lines and ripples perfectly, superbly lit all round, good pose, good model....a fantastic image!

Nicely captured, though I'm not sure about the Red of his pants.
Think I would of preferred it left mono, but that's only my opinion.

Good solid work, the red of his jocks is very much a designer thing, prefer mono but superbly handled IMO.

cheers
