John and I hooked up the "tin tent" on Saturday and headed for Saltwick with the hopes of doing a sunset/sunrise shoot. The weather was changeable to say the least on Saturday, but after some very heavy downpours, we decided we would make our way down onto the beach and walk to the wreck of the Admiral Von Tromp. A few showers whilst we were down there, when we had to cover the tripods and cameras with plastic bags, but eventually the rain stopped, and a few breaks in the clouds allowed the sun through. All that was left after the shoot was the arduous climb back up the cliffs and a very welcome cold cider in the campsite bar before closing time. Job Done.
As always Thanks for Looking

Totally great Chant. Srunning!!!!!!!!!!
After two years of planning and attempting to do this shoot its finaly in the bag and what a bag full.
Should my shots turn out to be half as good as this then I will be well pleased. I will tell "Joe C" the next time I see him to take note of this.
A climb in deed but my goodness, Oh so worth every arduous step. and all the pain suffered.
So well done am so proud of what you achieved to get this.

Almost went there myself on Saturdy evening but as you say the weather in the evening
Looked less than promising. I ended up on the east pier ((image uploaded). Chant this
Is beautifully captured .I have a few from the last couple of years from here in my portfolio and even one used as a book cover but I would still have loved to have met you and John to get one as wonderful as this .perhaps another time.....phil
I thought it was ice - till I read your description.
It is an amazing shot, absolutely fantastic!
A much photographed scene, but always a joy to view - I didn't get this far down from Whitby when I was there recently. And what a super capture here, Chant, that sky is gorgeous ![]()
Trev ![]()
A wonderful image - the way the light is reflecting off the wet rock is absolutely beautiful and I like the way the Black Nab is silhouetted against the strip of brighter sky. You certainly deserved your cold cider after the climb back up from the beach Chant ![]()
