Reading something about minimalism the other day so thought I'd have a go - Derwentwater last night - 2 stop ND grad with Lee Big Stopper.
"Calm" refers to the very heavy rainstorm I sat through before taking this image.
Hope you like.

Like it +++.
The very long exposure has brought an almost surreal quality to the image, Geoff.
And how you calculated exposure time is beyond me.
Marvellous shot from the new D800 which I am guessing you must be really enjoying.
Ronnie.
A striking image. The big stopper can be a bit of a Marmite thing (almost like Marmite in front of your lens) however this has captured a great sense of serenity. Excellent.
Alun
Wow - thanks for the response - thought I may get a mixed response actually as these images can be marmite as Alun says - made up for the loss at Old Trafford last night.
Many thanks to Andy for the GEA and to Charlotte, Andy and Ronnie for their UA's.
Alun - that's why I don't use my 10 stop ND very often and I am a bit impatient - the image took around 3 minutes.
Ronnie - the camera is a bit of a beast and has caused me to re-evaluate my technique but it should improve my photography.
