I uploaded the colour version of this image yesterday and several people mentioned that they would like to see a mono version. So here it is.

It works well as a mono Derek, but for me the blue tones of yesterday's upload outshine it SmileSmile

Absolutely stunning Derek. I have to say that although I loved the colour version... this simply takes my breath away. The toning is superb.

Excellent conversion, Derek, but I'm with Helen on the colour version.

This is a cracker although it's too close to call between this and the colour version.

I really liked the cool tones of yesterday's image but the mono version is excellent too - both are full of atmosphere but in slightly different ways. I'm afraid I'm going to sit on the fence here as I can't choose between the two Smile

Your signature high quality composition Derek and the monochrome has stripped away all but the essential shapes and tones of this beautiful image. Nicely done.

agree with Dougie about the shapes and tones showing to their best in the mono, but i do like those blue tones in the colour version. Think that they are both excellent, lesley

Thanks to everyone for the votes and comments. Its interesting to see how opinion is fairly even between the mono and colour versions.
