Quite effective but it would have been better to use a larger aperture to blur the background a bit.

I kind of like this for its immediacy and real-ness. What I mean is it's a kind of grabshot and the comp. isn't perfect, and the background a bit cluttered, but you've caught the moment of the hand going in and lighting the candle. The exposure's pretty good - considering all the flames you've kept detail in the background without burning out ( Smile ) the flames too much. My only suggestion for change would be to alter the colour balance a little bit to take some of the red out, but hey, that's just a niggle.

I personally like the warm colour tones in this and the way the candle light hits the hand as it lights a candle. If you had been able to compose it a little better, I would have suggested two thirds of the image with the candles and the left third showing those lovely brass or copper containers, which are beautifully lit by the candle light. That would just have meant moving a little more to your left.
