It's not a comment really, just a question. How did you get so close and have the thing stay still with the wings open? Do you just hang around a likely budlia or do you have a supply of your own in a jar? Lovely photo
It's a question of patience! I spend time waiting and watching at my favourite sites and use the S304 zoom facility to get in close. I probably get one good pic like this one for every ten I take but who cares, they're free with digital!
I have dozens of butterfly close-ups, and plants etc as I am writing a book (one day!)for children on nature walks with my dog!
