Taken during my recent trip along the Cumbria Way. This was on the second stage, from Coniston to Langdale, and the photo was taken near Skelwith Bridge. It was a very hot day with wonderful cloud formations - I thought the gate made a nice foreground too.

Lovely cloud formations well caught. To me there seems a bit too much uninteresting f/g left, although I like the flowers f/g right. Perhaps a lower viewpoint might have helped. BTW, all the rule books say gates should be open to invite the viewer though. Of course, there may have been a bull in the field just out of shot

I love this photo. I can't really comment on the technical side as I don't have the experience oor know how but I like the composition which draws you into the view.
After some thought the only alteration I have thought might have improved it is if the gater were slightly open.

Thanks for the comments - especially the open gate tip, didn't know about that! Not sure about whether this one was locked - but I'll check for next time.
