Ok, this was taken and done in November. I'd gone to the botanic gardens with the parents and was waiting for my mum to do something or other and next to me was this sorta (manmade) rock pool below a gentle cascade. A frangipanni had fallen in it and really stood out against the darkness of the water. The darkness coming from an algae'd rock pool bottom. I took the shot with flash.
At home, I increased shadow...which pretty much made the background black. I also increased colour saturation for the middle bit to enrich the yellow.
I quite like this. How about you?
As always, comments and criticisms WELCOME and with me there's no need for subtlety so just let it rip, capisce??

Splendid shot, the composition is good and the little tweeks you gave it have finished it all off nicely. The only crit would be is to have gone for a more narrow letterbox crop and drop the text as it detracts from your wonderfull shot.
Darren.
Alright then Andrew this is a bloody good photograph.

Captured perfectly.

Wonderful one, Andrew. Great color and nice contrast with black.

At first viewing, I thought the ends of the petals looked odd, then I read your description of the flower being in water. In that case, I think I would have liked a suggestion of water in the bg, so that the image stands on its own merit without the description.
Beautifully manipulated and presented, Andrew.
really like plumeria /frangipanni flowers. I have the hot pink variety, hopefully mine will last through the winter.nicely captured.
